Little info about a Phoenix

As the graceful phoenix soars through the sky, a magnificent rainbow trail is left behind...

{The Phoenix is a mythical sacred firebird, with golden/red plumage. It's lifespan is normally 500-1461 years and it has the ability to be reborn after the end of it's life-cycle. Another ability of it is regeneration. It can heal itself when hurt or wounded, making it almost immortal and invincible. The Phoenix is a symbol of fire/divinity and it's tears are able to heal wounds...as shown in a couple of the Harry Potter series}

SYF n Concert...=)

Well...i guess to start of my blog...i shall go chitty chat about some recent events my choir participated in! Yeah...there're are 2 major events...Concert, Viva Vox II(which means living voices) and SYF. This post is gonna' be my feelings about both evevnts...what should i start with...ok! Concert shall be first!

(1) Concert...well...all right...it was kinda' unnerving for me...even though i've performed quite a number of times with my secondary school choir...still...it's like wif a whole new grp of people...plus the fact i never stood in the front row...not even once!! In my sec sch, i was always 2nd/3rd Row...n it's suddenly POP i'm in the first row...Learning songs...it also felt a lil weird...i used 2 be a soprano...n now i'm an alto...so basically it's harder for me to get my notes...n i was trying to adapt during rehearsals...practices...sectionals...yea...

But thanks to my wonderful sectional leader, Yvonne...n the guidance of my conductor, n the support of my friends, well...I managed to pull through...for rehearsals at least. The day of the concert though, it was a totally different story. B4 the concert, i muz admit...we weren't exactly wad we call 'ready'...n the song we started wif totally threw us off...it was a fast-paced song...n with the already hightened tension...the song din exactly help us out...However, we managed to calm down n did all right for the rest of the songs...EXCEPT for one...Kyrie...now that one? Well...if u were there n u haf sharp ears...u wud understand...2nd half was much better! We were all focused n calm...that was when we truly enjoyed the songs n communicated wif the audience...esp. Festival Gloria...n perhaps our encore piece...Te Quiero (I adore You) teehee...

From then on, after a short debrief, i looked for my friends...plus my younger brother...n we all did some short intro to my choir friends...(one even approached the conductor...talk about brave!) and went out for supper! That was all for concert...i guess..........now...onto SYF...

(2) SYF! We got a silver...well...it wasn't the best....but u gotta' admit...we did our best...even our conductor said so...that definitely lifted our spirits. For SYF...well...we were definitely much more focused and ready...n we enjoyed our songs...ok...maybe to be honest...i din reali enjoy Song Without Words 2...but nevertheless...we all did our best to sing it...Laudate Domino and Luk Luk Lumbu...i enjoyed both songs...n for Luk Luk, i definitely enjoyed the choreographed moves! Even for the altos, the melody wasn't so bad....yeap! Though i remembered i had ta' re-learn all 3 songs cos i thought i was sop...n apparently i was an ALto....so well...hurry hurry hurry!!! Haha. I pulled through! YEAH!! For SOng without words 2, even though i learnt it back in TP, it was no use cos i becamse an alto in SA Chorale n back in TP? I was a Sop...

I met my ex-conductor, Nelson Kwei, chatted wif him for a bit, talked to my ex-schoolmates from Tanjong Katong Secondary School, n my ex-choir mates from TPJC! Anyway when we got our results...well...we realised what our senior had been trying to tell us that morning...be happy wif wad u get...it doesn't matter...cos as long as we haf done our best...it reali doesn't matter wad the results are...as long as we enjoy ourselves n do our best...now i noe wad they meant...n i whole-heartedly agree with them...i've got one thing to say though...SA CHORALE! YOU GUYS ROCK MY SOCKS!!! i noe it's cliche...but...well...haha
