Volunteering at HortPark....
So yes, I woke up early as usual even though it's a Saturday...this time for a different reason. All this while I have been going off to NDP training...that day however, I had to go for my ONOW project...*yawn* Wonder what excitement would I experience today...visiting a nature park is one thing...working as a volunteer...i'll bet that there would be a couple of differences...
I was 2nd to reach...my partner Benedict was the earliest amongst the three of us. Both of us met up and went to stone for a bit. The view was really pretty...with all the greenery, a huge body of water, coupled wit a nice morning breeze...mmm...it made me feel totally at home. I love nature! It's been a long time since i've entered a nature reserve...all the greenery n plants give me comfort n grounded to the earth...that we're all part of this world...part of this life...
Enough of that though, after a round of briefing from our leader (along with the arrival of our friend Kylie), we took a light snack before starting work. First activity of the day: Picture mossaic; Little kids activity time!! They were supposed to put together little bits of small items such as crystals/buttons/stones/gems to form a picture, so we provided them with a tile which had double-sided tape pasted all over, in case they messed too much with the glue.........so anywayz, the kids came and started having fun, with my friend n i walking around to help the kids/collect rubbish/answering questions etc. etc. Some of them were really creative, some were just messing around but created pretty nifty pieces, others were just disastrous -_-" oh well kids are kids XD
Now the next activity was 3D-Card Making. OMG! THis was one hell of an activity for me!!! Some of the kids were little angels, quietly doing up their cards, taking extra care when using the glue which we provided them with....of course with angels, there are devils. Duh. I remember crystal clearly that there were 3 boys whom i was interacting with and helping out...they were all in upper primary...not that it made any differences -_-" After seeing the way they wielded the scissors and penknives we lent them, my heart perpectually jumped out. One even looked menacingly at my long tresses with an evil glint in his eye and a pair of scissors in his hand. I immediately grabbed my hair and wrapped it up into a tight bun. Another boy picked up a tissue from the floor and stuck it on his face...with a hole at the mouth area, so that he could speak....aaaaaaand the other kid stuffed the tissue into his mouth...fyi the tissue dropped on the floor and had glue. My partner Ben and I nearly fainted from shock.
Thankfully after that it was break time!!!! All we needed to do was to bring all the furniture back to the store. For a moment I was shocked cause there was no way I was thinking of carrying those furniture and walk all the way. Then I realised...oh we werflyere transporting the furniture using a buggy. Me and benedict sat at the back...teeheee.....it was fun...minus the fact that my hair was blowing 2wards the front...
By the time after we made a few trips, I was starving. The 3 of us dropped by IKEA to chomp. Mmmm I totally missed the sweedish meat balls....yum yum!!! My two friends were couping the sauce from me after i was done >_> Once they were done, we made our way back to the Park, stopping once in awhile to look at the decorations (STUFF TOYS!!!)
Of course, when we were back, our leader was nowhere to be seen...so ben and I ended up falling asleep and taking a mini afternoon nap whilst Kylie read a pamphlet. An hour later, our leader came and briefed us on our next activity...butterfly garden!! WHOOTS!
We took a mini buggy again towards the butterfly garden where me and Benedict were in charge of the exit and entrance respectively. There was quite a turnout. The queue stretched all the way from the garden till the end of the stairs. I was jumping up and down to see the end of the queue (i'm not short just that the people were tall!!) Amusingly my leader asked me to count the number of people. I was thinking...HUH?! Are ya' kidding me or what??? I can't be in two places at once, guarding the exit whilst counting the number of people at the entrance! Thankfully whilst all these thoughts were running wild in my head, she went back inside to give the group more information/insights on the different species of the butterflies. Well, I gotta' admit they were pretty...as in the butterflies.
Oh yes apparently, the prettier the caterpillars, the uglier the butterflies were...whereas the uglier the caterpillars, the prettier the butterflies were. After what seemed like a millenium, the butterfly garden was finally closed to the public. Sadly, some people still turned up and we had to graciously turned them away...think we turned about 20++ people away in total. There was one particular group which didn't seem to wanna' leave...but we convinced them by saying if we let you in then there would be 20++ other people who wud come bash us up...tt did the trick XD
Finally, we were allowed to go home...after our leaders filled in the forms...and boy was i freakishly dead tired!!!! Sooo yar me signing off ^^ ciaoz!

POC~~
**********1st Night***************
Hmmm.....first night...well nothing much except for ice breaking games..sort of like a telematch...we had various stations...i shall try to talk about as much as I can remember ^^ Geez...we played..Human...Fooseball...thankfully we were just given boundaries to move around in and not tied to each other...or else you would probably see tonnes of people falling...on the hard floor...ouch....We lost haha. Our team lost. Sadded but oh well at least we had lots of fun and we played with integrity ^^ that's the most important.
Ahh yes remember how our parents always go: Don't play with fire?" Well....we were doing the exact opposite. It was a game called Tower Defense. Each team would have one tower (a chair basically) and one person would have to stand on it. 3 strings are tied around the chair's legs and each player has to carry one candle...one LIT candle...and burn the strings of the opponent's towers. To defend, we had to blow out the opponent's candles XD Cute huh...a hole was being poked through a piece of paper for the candle to be placed so that the wax could drip into it. Our dear opponent cheated and he perpectually lit up the paper too...OLYMPIC TORCH! How the hell do we blow that out we wondered...thankfully the judge saw it and she said it's against the rules. Cause by the size of tt flame, blowing wouldn't be enough. We probably would have had to spit on it (eew, gross)
Ever heard of the game "老鹰抓小鸡"? (Eng translation: Eagle catch chick) We played that...it's like for every row...the head is the eagle n the tail is the chick...middle people have no roles...apparently the heads muz try to catch the tails of the opposing teams...of course...some teams got seperated...n worst...some were blindly walking behind the person they were supposed to catch or run away from...man it was funny
Of course...what would camp be without water games. We played dog and bone with a twist. In the middle there was a cup in a bucket of water and an umbrella. The team which gets the cup filled with water has to splash it onto the referee's leg while the team which did NOT get the cup has to get the umbrella to defend. Of course, no team could hold two items at one shot. There were some pretty amusing moments. Two people were called out from each team. Our opponents...one grabbed the umbrella and one grabbed the cup, so it was like...our team people were staring blankly at the opponent. They didn't realise until the girl stared at the guy who stopped trying to splash the water cause he realised it was his own teammate. And another team wrapped the referee's legs with the umbrella...so of course no water could get through. It was hilarious!
We played a strange game called fishing. We each had a LONG string with one end attached to a bamboo pole n the other attached to a hook. Apparently we were supposed to hook up as many 'fishes' (plastic bags) as possible. Half of the team did the fishing and the other half did the guiding...we were supposed to swap after a certain period. Man...we had 48...which was only 2 away from beating the high score of 49...sadded.....oh we fished from the second floor and the items were on the first floor.
that was the end of the first night...the second day...was when all the fun came in...

Left: Fooseball
Right: Team Sepia ^^
***********2nd Day***************
Now THAT was one HECTIC day! All the activities were crammed in there WAHAHAHAHAHA! We had game activities first before our kayaking(which sadly got cancelled due to poor weather conditions) The games were REALLY amusing and crazy and fun!! Hmmm...let me see...
Oh yes we had absailing (someone misheard it as excelling n poor me was trying to figure out wad kind of a game is tt...) Basically it was just running down a wall...that part wasn't scary. It was standing on the paraphet and looking down which was scary...i was smart. I didn't look down. However, the instructors were pretty much a sadistic bunch. I could tell that some of them were pretty nervous...yet the instructors were going: Any last words? Anyone wants to write a will? Any last letters to write?" I was thinking....wad the hell...Overall though, the experience was pretty fun. Luckily i stopped in time or else my butt wud haf hit the floor...ouch. I was the first girl in my group to go...pretty brave huh? Well.. i kinda' half-shouted at the instructors to quit it with the 'last will/letter' stuff..hehehehe XD
CAPTAINS BALL!!!!!! Wah kau...this game arh...play captains ball with fruits de...dun use ball...finito. We used an orange, a cabbage and two bananas...gross. The cabbage shrunk, the bananas became soft-er, the orange...well...after playing with it, tossing it around in the hot sun with people's sweaty palms...after awhile you'd find that there's juice coming out from the orange as it flies around. AHH yes after the whole game, my senior decided to juz randomly throw it somewhere...his aim was apparently mega accurate cause it hit someone's head ... the poor guy had had to wash his hair immediately after that...gross...oh and a friend of mine? she apparently had a banana smacked into her leg...which kinda' left mushy bits all over...she squealed...unlucky me was next to her and my ear drums almost burst!!! Hau..but i really pitied the guy who had orange juice in his hair.... *grimace*
Another game ... we had to transport a certain amount of water from the first to the last person. Each of us had a cup in our hands. Now it sounds easy...but the catch is we had to pour the water backwards...which means we face the front and poured the water into the cup that's held by the person behind us...we spilled lots of water...it was really wet. The seniors weren't making things better though...they enjoyed whacking us with balloons as well as blowing a whistle in our ears to distract us. It worked like a charm...though the whistle trick did not work on me because I was mega used to my mum screaming loudly all of a sudden. We finally got sufficient water across...by the time we were done, our arms were aching...hahahah...
oh we oso had to stomp on numbers in order...everyone was given a number and we had to stomp on the number that was inside the circle...randomly arranged numbers...i stared at the middle number n was thinking...the middle person muz haf long legs.........haha but held the record of being able to stomp 20 numbers consecutively in 9 seconds XD
Ever tried skipping with two people holding each end of the skipping rope? sounds easy rit? now try doing it with 20 people in the middle....that's wad we had to do....20 ppl all jumping at the same time...10 times consecutively. Of course the first time we jumped we got entangled...n so did the 2nd time...n the 3rd...n the 4th....man i lost count of how many times it took before we could actually jump once....by the time we did ONE we were uber joyful. Until the seniors said: very good! One down, Nine to go! i was tempted to strangle him with the rope (the rope was actually a bunch of rubber bands tied together)
Ahh yes...the next game....soap water was poured onto a piece of canvas sheet...and we had to do 10 star jumps on it...goodness...we had to be synchronized and EVERYONE has to do it...otherwise we had to redo...luckily we didn't hafta' redo it...after that we slid across the canvas sheet since it was slippery with the soap water. Some people used their knees to slide, some slid on their front, some slid on their butt....no one slid on their faces...duh....
Top Left: Lunchie Break!
Top Right: pouring water backwards!!!!
Bottom Left: Help, i'm tangled up!!
***************3rd Day********************
Our last day at camp.....kinda' sad but oh well it was just the beginning of our journey in Primers. We had our usual breakfast...followed by some appreciation session. Each of us were given a chance to pick somebody from the group to show our appreciation to. Well...there were two of us (me being one of them) who decided to appreciate the ENTIRE group WAHAHAHAHA.
Oh yes...after that it was a photo taking session! It was with ALL the students who attended the camp. First years, second years and third years alike ^^ it was a bit tough looking up at the camera cause the sun was shining almost directly into our eyes. Most of us DID squint XD
After that, it was the tradition of Primers to do something we all know verrrry well....TAUPOK!!!!!!!! Mixed version. No one actually cared whether you were a guy or girl...they juz poured themselves against you. The committee had the worst of it though...they had to sit right in the middle of it all...imagine that. We repeated the process about a couple of times before i nearly fell down and luckily someone grabbed me before i ACTUALLY fell down. Haha
Well...POC was a really enjoyable time...from then we boarded the bus and then left for home...XD (oh we had a little bit of lunchie first before going off)
Ciaos people! That is all ^^

I'm gonna' be comparing the difference between JC life and Poly life...all in my very own perspective and opinion of course...feel free to rebut me ^^ (no spam no crap otherwise i'll let ya' experience HELL)
When I was in Junior College, I was literally slugging my way out everyday. It was boooring. I don't really fancy studying to be honest. Initially I wanted 2 back out of JC once I was done with Project Work...however...my parents FORCED me to continue on with my JC education...sadded. To be honest, I wasn't really happy in Junior College...even though it was supposed to be FUN FUN FUN! (I'm from SAJC btw) I wasn't really doing something I like...which is studying. I love and adore projects...which was few or minimal in a Junior College. It was studying all the way. In my 2nd year, I was sent for councilling with a few others because my results were horrendous. Ironically, even though my results were supposed to go up, it went down even further and hit rock bottom. ALL U GRADES! From then on, every time i got back a test, I didn't really bother and just continued failing because the inspiration just wasn't there. I wanted to just get everything over and done with so that I could get out of the Junior College and get a life!
Well my wish finally came true. I finished up my A levels (to be honest I didn't study as hard as I did for O levels) Huh...my results...well...i passed...haha and I immediately signed up for Singapore Polytechnic. TADAA! Now here I am in SP. Doing the things I love. I'm taking Diploma in Media and Communication. Perfect. The only downside is media writing...other than that, I love the rest of my modules...especially my Design Module ^^ ( I love desigining, even my friend commented tt a bulk of me is a Design person) Currently I'm enjoying polytechnic life now. Yeah...even though there's concurrent projects going on...I do not mind...cause at least it's something that I love...besides...it beats studying anytime and anyday for me ^^ Hells care if i'm the oldest in class...no one can tell...I don't lookie my age anywayz ^^
Okay this is Nurvy signing out ^^ ciaos people

It all began with a girl by the name of Elisia who somehow managed to defy her fate and cheat death. Elisia, using her wits n skills, managed to escape the building which was supposed to explode with her inside, thus killing her. As years rolled by, she found herself trapped in a neverending cycle of watching the building explode right in front of her eyes. It was intolerable for her, however, but she had no choice but to endure it until she could figure out a way to stop the culprit from causing the explosion. ( i nd ta' expand over here...sry ppl) Suddenly, a succubus (or lady devil for that matter >_>) appeared to her and offered some assistance. The succubus could intervene and stop the cycle BUT in return Elisia has to give up her soul. A paper contract than appeared. All she was required to do was sign the paper. Needless to say, she refused. With that, the succubus nodded and disappeared.
Elisia decided to ask her boyfriend for help. He works in a nearby building, but not the actual building itself. Unfortunately, before they could stop the culprit, they got caught. Thus, while
making their escape, Elisia got seperated from her boyfriend though she was too frantic to notice.
As the lift door opened, Elisia ran straight into the lift. Strangely, the door did not open after that. It merely travelled up and down continuously until Elisia decided to force the door open and jump out. What awaited her was something strange and new...
Elisia took a quick glance around and almost immediately saw the culprit who caused the explosion. This time, however, she realised that his face was that of peace and calmness. He had an aura of tranquility of him, unlike the previous time when she saw him, filled with rage and anger. Elisia then realised that she was in a different future altogether but in order for that to happen, it meant that the cycle has ended. But how? she wondered.
Out of the blue, Elisia realised her boyfriend had disappeared. She then started searching for him. After looking for a long while, she still could not see a trace of him. Elisia became frantic until she saw a paper on the floor. Picking it up, she realised that the paper was the same contract paper which the succubus showed to her. Add to that, her horror was amplified when she saw that the paper bore her boyfriend's signature. Elisia went hysterical and started shouting as well as demanding for an explanation.
Almost instantly, the succubus appeared and her face betrayed a hint of pity. She explained that Elisia's boyfriend could no longer withstand seeing her suffer as he was aware of her doomed fate - endless cycle of suffering. Hence, he decided to end her suffering by sacrificing himself. Her boyfriend then appeared for one last time to say goodbye. Elisia broke down and cried...
THEN I WOKE UP!! Please comment on my story haha!! and no do NOT ask me who the ppl were in the story unless you want me to put you through the same fate as the girl XD yar sry for being sadistic ppl XD

Outing wif my guy friend clique XD
Okok enuf wif the movie review LOL anywayz we ended up watching Disney's Movie: Race to Witch Mountain. I guess it was lots of sci-fi genre...with aliens/UFOs/spaceships and stuff...however, it does haf the basic moral values like all disney movies XD friendship, family, courage, honesty...well yar u guys get the gist of it (nearly typed fist omg...) Anywayz i personally thought the movie was pretty good, well duh, i love anything tt's out of the ordinary...supernatural phenomenon...anything tt takes me away from the reality of this world ^^ *stares at the pile of vampire books next to her* well well...Hmm..the two teens who acted as the aliens were fairly convincing XD And of course...we have THE ROCK...who is as superb as ever ^^ ohh...i esp love the part where *smacks her mouth* oops...no spoilers...ahaha go watch it yerself if yer wanna' noe abt the show ^^
Anywayz after the movie, it was still early...say 2 plus or so...thus we ended up going LAN shop...to try out Left 4 Dead! (actly 4 of us TRIED one of us, jeff, was already, well, as they say, addicted to the game...) Hmmm...left 4 dead...IT WAS COOL MARVELLOUS FREAKINGLY SICK AND GORY! Perfect for me ^^ a gore fan... >_> hey dusn mean i'm a girl i can't enjoy gory stuff...anywayz the zombies were cool....i HATED the Boomers...dey literally vomit sludge on ya' which render u almost helpless cause u can't see anything except a green smudge across the screen. Oh yes...u can even get tackled by an undead and u nd yer team's help otherwise u die cause the undead will virtually eat u up/tear u apart (no ppl they din show the details) and of course sometimes u can get snagged by a string...around your neck! still all in all it was fun!! I shall show ya' some examples...nii~~~

2nd archery lesson
8pm came n we still saw the kids inside...soooo we made our way to the canteen and waited even longer. My friend played a racing game on his phone while i played sudoku to wild our time away. Finally, our coach saw us and he told us to come in. When we went in he told us tt we could haf actly come in and sat by the side, with the bonus of air-conditioning. I was thinking...thank you but I wud rather be warm lol...it IS a cool day after all....anywayz our archery lesson thus begin.
First as usual we nocked our arrows and shot them. At first there were 4 of us, my friend and me plus another two kids who were younger than us, a boy n a girl. The girl was pretty cute XD Anywayz, my aiming was pretty off 2day T.T haizzz maybe i shud start training my arms up >_> muz haf more endurance!!! AHAHAHAHA Hmmm...so yar 2day we were taught to retrieve our arrows from he board. Omg...i was freaking weak n was tryin ta' pull the arrow out without success. In the end i made a cry for help towards my friend....ahhh...stupid sweaty slippery palms...zzz...
Another thing i noticed...is it just me or was the target getting smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller each time i retrieved the arrows n went back to shoot. At first all my arrows circled around the middle wif a couple hitting the target...but as time went on i noticed my arrows started flying upwards n downwards...i was thinking...oh man...my aiming is dead off!! I was pretty upset...i even NEARLY shot the arrow towards the floor >_> it was so freaking low on the board that i gasped. Haizzz
Oh well time to pack up after awhile...we went to carry the stuff backstage as me friend n i were the last two to finish up our lesson. Before that when i was helping coach carrying the first round of items, he admitted to me tt everytime we both turned around...he wud secretly push the target board a few inches back....i was thinking...oh goodie so it wasn't just me...ahahahahaha... <_< i was like...great...just great...haizz oh well gotta' work on my arm strength and endurance...*yawn* now i feel sleepy...thanks to the sport AND cold weather...both of which by itself cud make me tired...add them together...urgh...i wud definitely fall into a deep slumber in which even a bomb explosion wouldn't wake me up...haha....oh well tt was all for 2day ppl XD buaizzz

Drumming on Sunday n Archery on Monday
Archery...whew...the only thing i can say is that...my coach is one hell of a joker and that it really is taxing on your arm. I admit, it looks really cool and fun. However, when you actually do the sport itself, you'll probably realise that there's a lot of work behind the cool facade of archers. Hmmm so anyway my friend n i went for our first archery lesson ( actly for the cc it's 2nd, so technically speaking, we were one lesson behind T.T ) and the coach gave us a warm and completely hilarious welcome ^^ First up he got us to introduce ourselves which we did. Then he got both of us to go up while he checks our size (fat or thin) of course those hu noe me wud noe wad category i'm under ^^ he poked our upper arms n said 'this is fat u see! after learning archery this over here will be toned' poor me was laughing so hard i had was having difficulty breathing n had a reali bad case of tummyache ^^" So anywayz he introduced the bow to us n taught us the different parts...as well as wad we needed to wear during our archery shooting sessions, mainly an arm guard ( to protect yer arm in case the bowstring slaps against it) n of course the finger guard...i think..hmm forgot wad it was called ( to protect yer fingers when u're pulling the bowstring ... once or twice it wouldn't hurt but believe me if u had to do it repeatedly u'll feel the pain) and den we were ready to shoot. My first arrow hit the top of the board whilst my second arrow flew out of the board. fantastic eh? one of the other coaches quickly corrected me ^^ he looked quite young to me...*shrugs* oh well...anywayz after tt my shooting got better thankfully. No more out-of-board arrows n my arrows became quite consistent after tt. they were all around the circle n some even hit the bullseye (tyco shot) So after a few rounds of shooting, my shoulder blades n upper arms started to ache. After i went home, i could barely lift my arm for awhile...it reali hurts LOL but oh well i'll get used to it...after a couple of weeks or so. now...one more course to start...dancing...but tt will be another story ^^
